Joe, 49, a communications sales engineer, and Jess, 44, who runs a hairdressing salon with her sister, have been married for 11 years and have two children in primary school. Joe couldn’t believe he had just won ₦105 billion, as he thought it was thousands of pounds at first glance.

Joe woke up at 5:15 am and discovered he had won £184,262,899.10 on Euromillions- the UK’s biggest ever lottery haul.

Joe, who couldn’t believe what he saw, said in a press conference hosted by a broadcaster near Cheltenham, United Kingdom. “I looked at the amount and I put the phone down. I picked the phone up and I looked at the amount again.”

I first thought it was in thousands,’’ he said, but then he “started counting the digits”

He further said he told his wife, who couldn’t believe him at the first instance, but the reality started to sink in.

The couple both commented on the cost of living crisis, with 9% inflation pushing prices to unmanageable levels, saying they too had been feeling the pressure.

Concerning their financial situation, they stated that they had savings that they intended to use to do some home improvement when prices fell.

The couple also revealed they had only bought a wardrobe, a chest of drawers, and a simple celebration dinner of £16.95steak and chips. They also added that holidays
